Holi is a popular Hindu religious festival celebrated across India. It is called the festival of colors. Holi is also called Phagwah in Assam, Doḷajātra in Odisha, Dol Jatra in Bengal, and Basantotsav in some parts of West Bengal and Assam.
Holi is particularly popular in the Braj region, which includes places mythologically and traditionally connected to Lord Krishna, which include: Nandgaon, Mathura, Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, and Barsana. Dedicated to Lord Krishna, Holi depicts a playfulness, simplicity and innocence displayed in the nature of God Krishna.
As per Hindu date calendar, Holi is celebrated on the auspicious Phalguna Purnima (or the Full Moon night during the Phalgun season), which comes around February or March according to the Gregorian Calendar.
Every year, several thousands of Hindus and other enthusiasts of this festival participate in the festival of Holi. The festival of Holi is quite significant for many reasons. First of all, it celebrates the dawn of a new season, spring. Originally, it was known as the festival that commemorated a season of good harvests and worshipping the fertile land. Hindus believe that it is also the time of enjoying spring's abundant colors and bid farewell to winter. It also serves a religious purpose and binds all Hindus across the globe. During this event, participants hold a bonfire, throw colored powder at each other, and celebrate wildly.
We wish to provide our users with happy holi videos and send our heartiest greeting across to them via this Happy Holi video app.
